Wednesday September 11th - 9.30 am to 1.15 pm

Session 1 : Data Validation
Chairman: J. RICHALET
The clear understanding of the process and the data validation are essential features to be controlled.

Wednesday September 11th - 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm
Session 2 : Identification and Modelling
Chairman : G. BLOCH
Process simulation allows at any time, to access and to anticipate plant behaviour, so as to react in real time and to improve performances.

Thursday September 12th - 9.30 am to 1.15 pm

Session 3 : Control based on models of knowledge and other models
Chairman : M. OULADSINE
dvanced Automation meets a growing success among manufacturers , because of its outstanding technical advantages : it suits non PID controllable process (such as non linear process, process involving time delays or restrictions on internal variables and algorithms…). It brings therefore qualitative and economic gains which contribute to improve firms competitiveness. The ease with which it can be set up and tuned in DCS’s or PLC’s contributes to its spreading.
Session 4 : Modelling ans control must of Batch Process
Chairman : D. VIEIRA.
Pharmaceutic industry, which must comply with drastic manufacturing rules, has set up a good practice systems production, and more automation and engineering.
Regarding as they are submitted and more controls and requirements, the food, perfume, and cosmetic industries also take a similar approach...

Thursday September 12th - 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm

Session 5 : Industrial Contribution of Advanced Automation : technology and men
Chairmans : P. MARQUIS et C. BASTIEN
Advanced Automation technologies bring high added-value to manufacturing industries : they help to reduce pollution, enable quality standards to be met at lower costs and allow plant performance to be assessed with a return on investments not greater than one year. But the training of people involved and the peculiar role of operators are critical for the success of the project.
